Event 4 (Final) 2012/13 - Rundown & Results

Saturday 2nd February 2013

The fourth and final event of this seasons Schick Hydro Ocean Thunder has today been run in huge seas on Sydney's Dee Why Beach.

Finals Action - Event Four

Whilst building conditions eventually forced the cancellation of the Women's racing and Young Guns exhibition events, Australia's elite level Men's crews provided a spectacle to behold for the many thousands of spectators lining the beach in driving rain.

Series leaders Brett's Hardware (Currumbin) claimed the day with a remarkable four out of a possible four wins in very challenging conditions. Two time Australian and former Ocean Thunder Champions Dial Before You Dig (Mona Vale) finished second with Dial Before You Dig (Moruya) making their first podium finish of the season in third place ahead of Enware Australia (Elouera) in fourth.

Finals Action - Event Four

Crews to make the coveted top ten included Jac Oars (Austinmer), ColorTile (North Steyne),  Starrett (Batemans Bay), Trayd Pools (North Cronulla), Financial Decisions (Mona Vale) and Capricorn Roofing (Mooloolaba).

The Ken Murray Cup, which is awarded to the Men's series cumulative pointscore winner was won by Brett's Hardware (Currumbin) who finished the four event series with a remarkable three wins and one second, three wins all in vastly different conditions proving their undisputed dominance over this very hot field.

Finals Action - Event Four

The Don McManus Trophy, which is awarded to the Women's series cumulative pointscore winner has left the Northern Beaches of Sydney for the first time and headed west to John Roberts Foundation (North Cottesloe) based on the series results to event three.

Event four of the Schick Hydro Ocean Thunder Pro Surfboat Series can be seen on Foxtel
Thursday Thursday 14 February 2013 @ 5.30pm on fox 1
Saturday 16th February 2013 @ 12.30pm on fox 2
A wrap up of the entire 2012/2013 series will be shown on the Nine Network on
Sunday 17 February 2013 Morning @ 10am  (AEDST)
